Eastern Vaud is not limited to the Riviera. It continues towards the Alps with le Chablais and the town of Aigle, which is home to a branch of Bombardier, a company active in transport technology, as well as the World Cycling Centre (WCC). The Bex salt mines, which have existed for three centuries, still operate today.
Further on are the Vaud Alp resorts of Villars, Leysin and les Diablerets with its glacier, all ideal places to enjoy mountain sports and leisure activities. The top of Scex Rouge is a noteworthy spot offering gorgeous scenery.
Once again, it should be noted that some towns such as Ollon and Ormont are considered tourist towns under the Federal Law on the Acquisition of Real Estate by Persons Abroad (LFAIE). Therefore, foreigners who do not reside in Switzerland can purchase a holiday home under certain conditions.
